Contribute to LAFI

By contributing to LAFI you are subscribing to a powerful idea, that arts and education matter. As a small organization dedicated to serve a diverse community, we are not providing a direct fee-for-service membership. Instead, we are changing the way people think about art, education and especially Latin American culture. We believe art is not for the elites, and that everyone, especially every child should have access to music, dance and arts education. We show adults that it is never too late to play and instrument and express yourself through dance. We engage children in arts activities that contribute to their development. We teach every one that the arts are an important part of life. Your dollars support this message and the efforts to make it a reality.

How to Contribute to LAFI

There are several ways you can contribute to LAFI:
• Becoming a member
• A donation through your corporation or foundation
• Donating materials and supplies needed for our school

Individual Memberships
We have five membership levels to make it easy for you to join us and participate in LAFI's development.

Basic $35/year
Join now
As a basic member of LAFI you will receive:
• Receive regular e-mails with our music calendar of events and other important information.
• Each quarter you'll be notified and will receive a direct link to access a new issue of CLAVE magazine on-line, our journal dedicated to informing you about cultural events, performances, exhibits, and workshops becomes available on line. Every issue of CLAVE includes a section on learning musical styles and instruments, interviews and reviews of new music releases.

Friend $50/year

When you become a Friend of LAFI you will receive:
• Same benefits as Basic membership, PLUS:
• 10% discount on all LAFI books, tapes, and CDs.
• Listing of your events on our web site.
• A 10% discount on classes taken with LAFI instructors.

Supporter $100/year
Join now
When you become a LAFI Supporter you will receive:
• Same benefits as Friends, PLUS:
• 10% discount on LAFI events.
• Receive MEMBERS ONLY invitation to special events at El Palanquin, a beautiful place to meet and enjoy Latin American arts. El Palenque, an elegant second floor site on our historic building built in 1922 and acquired by LAFI in 2002, is entered in the Maryland Register of Historic Places.
• Educational Opportunities such as special workshops with visiting artists and renown speakers.

Sustainer $250/year

When you become a LAFI Sustainer you will receive:
• Same benefits as Friends and Supporter, PLUS:
• Bi-monthly Luncheon programs with members of the press, Latin American professors and diplomats discussing a variety of subjects.
• 2 complimentary tickets to a LAFI-sponsored theater performance or music event.

Patron $500

When you become a LAFI Patron you will receive:
• Same benefits as Friends, Supporter, and Sustainer, PLUS:
• FREE Admission to special workshops
• FREE Admission to our Annual Members Gala
• Once a year free use of our performance facilities

Institutional Memberships

    ORGANIZATIONS $299
    Join now
    LAFI offers organizations the opportunity to become LAFI members. When your organization joins, it will receive:
    • Invitations to MEMBERS ONLY receptions for visiting artists.
    • Monthly FREE banner advertisement on our web page.
    • Monthly FREE listing on our calendar and show web pages.
    • Optional web hosting at a discounted price.

    CORPORATIONS
    Corporate partners can purchase a full page ad in our audience program, or in CLAVE magazine, reaching 20,000 subscribers and visitors annually for $1,000. Contributions of $2,000 and above receive sponsorship credit for designated projects. See our ads section.

     • Enables us to bring high quality international programming at a fraction of the cost charged by other venues.

     • Helps to close a cultural gap between peoples of different countries.

    The StairCase Campaign

    Make a Life Long contribution through the StairCase Campaign, which supports facility improvements and program expansion at El Palenque Cultural Space. Steps are now available for purchase at the Cultural Space. When you purchase a step of our staircase, your name will be engraved in a plaque and placed on a step of your choice. Purchase a step and become a permanent part of our institution.
